The Moot went to an audition for Britains Got Talent in Manchester at the end of January and played at the Opera House in Salford in front of 2000 people. The band were interviewed and filmed all day before the audition at about 6pm. In what was an interesting experience they performed a few seconds of Gimme Hope Joanna by Eddie Grant when Simon Cowell put his hand in the air (David Walliams quipped Simons put his hand in the air which means only one thing, Simon needs the toilet.) to request they play Sex On Fire. They got through a verse and a chorus, the audience were enjoying it as were The Moot before Simons buzzer went shortly followed by Amanda Holdens and Alesha Dixon waited a few moments longer before buzzing them out. David Walliams did not buzz and he and Eryl had a witty banter at the start of the show with David asking Eryl what was behind her glasses and she replied " Eyes" and the auidience laughed it was great. Simon said "If buskers got Talent then Yes" Alesha Dixon said it was wishy washy, Amanda Holden began to protest and Eryl pointed out we are playing with Djembe and normally use a full drum kit at gigs. When Simon asked why they hadn't brought the drums Eryl replied "becuase your producers wouldn't let us" after that the judges didn't say another word. Eryl asked the crowd what they thought and they all cheered, Eryl said its what they think that matters. It was hilarious. After the audition Eryl was mobbed by a large camera crew filming her reaction which was "its all a fix". All in all a fun day with funny stories to tell, they are proud to have taken part and deep down they knew they were being used as fodder but went along for the ride.
